Profile.
General.
Birth/Given Name: Yuki (lit. "snow")Alias: "Runt"
Gender: Female
Human Age: 18 or 19
Human Height: 5' 6" (apprx. 168 cm)
Human Weight: 140 lbs (63.5 kg)
Role in Pack Situation: Yuki is a follower, but she has no qualms speaking her mind and once she becomes comfortable with others around her though, Yuki will most likely forsake her loner ways.
Appearance.
Clothing: Blue jeans, and a violet shirt, her perfect clothes for running or playing the role of scout or just the every day wanderings. This “every Jane” outfit is accompanied by a pair of well worn sneakers, Yuki's only remaining piece of clothing is her light weight white jacket.
Physical Description: Standing with her back to the wind and a small smile on her lips, Yuki's hazel-brown eyes and soft features belie her age. Combined with long, free flowing, brown hair, she passes for a child in her early teens instead of the young adult that she is. But that child-like appearance vanishes the instant she senses the need to move on (whatever that need may be). Her features seem to harden and her eyes darken, then everyone who thought she was a child realizes that they were watching and dealing with a young lady. As she sprints off, the same as if she were in the water, her swimmer's muscles and agility tighten and release with every beat of her heart. As she runs on, dodging cyclists and walkers a like, Yuki notes the personalities and gestures of everyone around her. She takes in the scents and sights, hoping to catch a glimpse of someone she could feel "at home" around, someone whose presence wouldn't inspire her to run on alone.
Wolf Description: Her alias says it all: Runt. Yuki stands shorter than most Eastern Timber Wolves, at only 25 inches (63.5 cm) in height from paw-pads to shoulder. Her length isn't much different, a mere 58 inches (149 cm) from nose to tail tip. Fortunately, her size makes hiding in smaller spaces and getting through thick brush easier than most of the larger wolves. The equal distribution of her 66 pounds (29 kg) represents the only "average" measurement about Yuki, even though she did grow from a tiny pup into the body of a relatively tiny adult. Fortunately for the Runt of the litter (not the pack, the litter), Yuki's grey and amber brown coat adds to her nature given stealth and keeps her from standing out amidst other wolves. Only her amber hued eyes, tracing everything and everyone around her, actively call attention. She stands always ready to run or give chase, for that is the lot every surviving Runt inherits.
Inner.
Personality: Observant, bubbly, sarcastic, calculating, cynical, blunt and guarded. All of those words describe the every polite and personable Yuki. She will never apologize for speaking her mind, perhaps she'll warn others that they might be offended or taken aback by her comments. Perhaps. Because she's so used to running, to reading people and wolves alike, and to internalizing all the mannerisms she's seen, Yuki sometimes comes off as rude. Regardless of intimacy, be you friend or merely the stranger next to her on the park bench, this Runt forever looks others dead in the eye and there are few exceptions. But no matter who you are, she will always speak and have all other body language as polite as possible.
While Yuki's standard is to run and avoid conflicts (even those she unintentionally creates), cornering her could possibly be the worst decision that you or anyone ever makes. Having grown up the family Runt she has no problems turning from what appears to be a docile canine into the most beastly wolf possible. The brutality she's needed to use to escape from situations where she’s been cornered, takes a lot to trigger. This transformation in her personality (from friendly but cautious to “now you die”) will also occur if she is defending youngsters, even though she has none of her own. But if she things you can help her in any way or she can help you, don't be surprised to find a sometimes skittish shadow behind you.
History: Yuki, called the Runt by her estranged siblings and most of their pack, ran away not long after she reached her full size (and the ripe human age of 14). Running from her family and pack of birth didn't come about simply because she hated being reminded of her lower value but because something she couldn't explain drew her to run. Maybe it was a desire to chase the moon until she could run no more. Or maybe she wanted to explore. Whatever her reason, Yuki fled from her pack's snow kissed territory on one dark and moonless night several year ago.
She ran until she physically could run no more, collapsing on the banks of a half-frozen creek. Panting and otherwise exhausted, Yuki lay there in the snow and finally fell into a restless sleep. Only coming back to consciousness to run the moment the howls of dogs met her ears, not wolves but dogs. How far had she run that first night? It couldn't have been too great a distance could it? But perhaps she’d gone far enough to get out of her pack's territory and into that maintained by humans. And so it began, Yuki's seemingly never ending game of hide-and-go-seek with humans. Or as she affectionately calls it, “Tag with Death”.
Over the months and years she wandered cities and countryside, never being able to call one or the other home. Learning how to appear innocent and make others mistake her for a girl three or four years younger and then reveal either her age or her true self in an instant. Often, when she flees, kicking off from that fence or that wall or even just the ground, she tucks away the carefree mask. Unlike when she fell down at the creek bank, she stops because something she sees intrigues her. That inborn female curiosity kicks in and she has to investigate.
As it nears the present she knows and sometimes hates, Yuki has begun to seek a pack of her own. Not one to lead, because that responsibility makes her more sick and uncomfortable than the thought of seeing her estranged siblings again. No. She simply wants to belong once more, to not have to run. How many cities have become a blur in her running past? How many forests and countrysides? How many scents and tastes has she filed away? Too many to count.
